The Development History of Plastic Packaging Bags

The development process of plastic packaging bags can be roughly divided into the following stages:
1. Early stage: In the 1950s, the production technology of plastic materials gradually matured, and plastic packaging bags began to be used for commodity packaging and transportation. At that time, plastic packaging bags were mostly made of heavy polyethylene material, which was expensive.
2. High-speed growth stage: From the 1960s to the 1980s, with the continuous improvement of plastic production technology and the gradual reduction of the production cost of plastic packaging bags, plastic packaging bags began to be widely used. Especially in food, cosmetics, medicine, daily chemical and other industries, plastic packaging bags have become the main packaging materials.
3. Environmental issues attract attention: From the 1990s to the beginning of the 21st century, with the improvement of environmental awareness and the introduction of environmental regulations, the environmental issues of plastic packaging bags began to attract widespread attention. At this time, some biodegradable plastics and recyclable plastic bags began to appear, but due to high prices and unstable performance, it was difficult to popularize them.
4. Pay attention to the stage of sustainable development: from the middle of the 21st century to the present, with the concept of sustainable development deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the environmental protection of plastic packaging bags has been paid more attention. Some new materials and technologies have been developed, such as degradable plastic bags, biodegradable plastic bags, recyclable plastic bags, etc., which are gradually being widely used. At the same time, some countries and regions have begun to introduce restrictions or bans on the use of plastic bags, which has promoted the transformation and upgrading of the plastic packaging bag industry.
